Individuals with hypochondria often interpret normal body sensations or minor symptoms as indicators of severe medical conditions, leading to significant distress and anxiety.

Hypochondria, also known as illness anxiety disorder, is a mental health condition characterized by an excessive preoccupation with having a serious illness despite having little or no medical evidence to support this belief. 

You must be knowing from your social group some like that, they have one or two traumatic illnesses and they become extra anxious about their health.

Minor bodily discomfort or even small gurgles in the stomach make them think of work health conditions like cancer and what not.

You can anchor the desired behavior or pleasant memory with your subject and help them trigger it when it is required.

You can also chain multiple anchors to help the subject to avoid repetitive health related anxiety.

  1. NLP Swish pattern

NLP swish pattern is master of all techniques for behavior change, if it is done properly, it can give lasting change within a few moments.

For a successful NLP Swish pattern a subject should have desired result and it must be positive to achieve. 

In case of hypochondriac the desired behavior may be a disease, just to prove themselves right, be careful to choose the desired behavior.

This is my favorite NLP technique for rapid relief and it is easy to execute also.

A hypochondriac convinces himself that he has health problems and it is all his internal dialogue or say how he communicates with himself. 

NLP Milton model language pattern is the best way to ease into the belief system of the subject and put suggestions for change.

These language patterns are also known as conversational hypnosis where you can help a subject without alerting their defense system.
