Change personal history NLP technique is one of the classic NLP techniques to change your perception of any past behavior.
I have used change personal history NLP techniques to help one of my friends get rid of grief feelings for one of his life events.
Change personal history NLP technique helps you use your current awareness and resourceful state to change your state in the past.
This technique is based on the presupposition that we have the resources we require. Therefore, we need to tap into these resources and can live a positive life.
What is the change personal history NLP Technique?
The change personal history NLP technique is a process with which you can add more resources to the number of memories and change it positively.
How do we change the personal history NLP technique?
Changing the personal history NLP technique is long and requires the practice of NLP Anchoring techniques.
Step 1: Access the emotion coded as negative and establish an exit cue.
Find space where you can make your client walk, ask the client where the negative emotion goes, mark a spot there.
It is important to form an exit cue, just in case if the process does not go as desired. For example, you can form an exit cure (Anchor) with a real object.
This will help you to come back to your previous state quickly.
Now, Access that negative emotion coded in mind; you must use all the representation systems to elicit those emotions.
Once the negative emotion is accessed with all modalities, now set a unique Anchor for this.
Step 2: Link all negative emotions related to the selected experience
Now, see, straight, and try to visualize all negative emotions related to this experience.
For example, many phobias are linked to some childhood experiences. If you can link these kinds of experiences, you can change those as well.
Once you have identified these emotions, link them to Anchor one as well.
Now you have set an Anchor for Negative emotions.
You can write down all negative emotions related to this beforehand to make the process.
Step 3: Go to the far most memory and take a break
While searching for all related negative emotions, go to most of the earliest memory, and stop searching. Try to put the age besides all identified memories.
Like at age 6 this memory, at age 8 this and that.
For the best results, do it physically. That is, try to walk through the time for this step.
Take a break, Have a glass of water.
Step 4: list your helpful resources in the present time.
Ask your client what kind of resource you have in the present that may be useful for these memories? Or, if you could use your current resources to change the experience, what resources would you use?
As we grow up, we have more resources than earlier.
You can list them like, Patience, resilience, forgiveness, or whatever you feel like as resources that may be useful to get over the negative experience.
Step 5: Anchor the resourceful states
It is time to set an anchor for these positive, resourceful states. Be careful to choose unique spots over earlier ones.
To change the personal history NLP technique, make sure you use as many resourceful states as possible.
Step 6: Collapse both Anchors.
Now, try to ask the client to remember the first negative experience and fire the first anchor.
Immediately after that, fire a second anchor as well with positive resources. Make sure the content of the first experience is completely changed, move quickly to the other experience.
Remember, if the process does not go as per plan or out of control, you can always use the exit cues.
The timing is key for a while firing the anchor, and I prefer to fire a positive anchor as quickly as possible. I use it whenever I feel the negative resources are still powerful.
Be quick to move to the next experience. If you give more time, the conscious becomes alert and may change the submodalities or change the experience itself.
Step 7: Take a small break
The process to this point will be an exhausting experience. Take a break.
Break the state completely, and you can ask your client to take a short walk or offer to eat something.
Step 8: Enjoy the change and peace.
Ask the client to take a deep breath and check again with the negative experience.
The purpose of this step is to find out if there are any missing points or the experience is still there.
By this step, most of the negative experiences will have changed, and if you still find some experiences that need to be changed, you can use some other NLP technique.
This is a liberating feeling and gives peace where the impact of those negative memories and experiences reduces.
Step 9: Future Pace
In this step, we will use the positive resources for future events.
Ask your client to imagine the future event while firing the positive anchor. In the imagination, clients should be able to handle similar types of events more successfully.
Step 10: Test
Check whether the client can feel more freedom from these negative memories and experiences in the coming days. The client should feel more peaceful with these negative memories.

A short version of Change personal history NLP Technique
I have tried to explain the change personal history NLP technique in detail in this post, and now I am sharing a summarised version of the process.
Step 1 – Let the client explore the unresourceful state and find out how that is coded in the brain. Set Anchor number 1. Collect all unresourceful states and mark them with age.
Step 2 – Take a break check the Anchor number 1
Step 3 – Ask the client to find a resourceful state which will be helpful to overcome earlier selected unresourceful states. Set Anchor number 2
Please note both Anchors must be unique.
Step 4 – Pick as much as possible resourceful state and strengthen Anchor number 2.
Step 5 – Take a break and check Anchor Number 2
Step 6 – Ask the client to remember an unresourceful state and fire Anchor number 1 immediately, followed by firing Anchor number 2. Keep firing Anchor number 2 until the unresourceful state changes.
Step 7 – Quickly move to all other unresourceful states and keep firing Anchor number 2.
Step 8- Let the anchors integrate. For example, anchor number 2 should overpower it.
Step 9 – Test Anchor number 1 and check for the changes made
Step 10 – Future pace and check the effects.
This Change personal history NLP technique is an old one and now has been replaced by T.I.M.E therapy. However, this does not stop you from trying this amazing technique.
For recurring events, this can be a helpful NLP technique, as it uses an anchor. But then, you need to fire the old anchor and change states.
